WHY is a project that approaches publishing as an experimental and critical practice. It draws inspiration from Eva Weinmayr’s manifesto One Publishes to Find Comrades, and considers publishing not as a fixed outcome or a tool of persuasion, but as a starting point for communication and social exchange.
Based on this idea, the project developed a workshop under the theme Why Publish. The workshop was structured around three sections: Why Publish Comradeship, Why Publish Collective, and Why Publish Communication. Each section explored the possibilities and meanings of collective publishing from a different perspective, asking how publishing can create relationships, build temporary communities, and open up spaces for shared discussion.
